Angela and Simon at LFS

Simon and Angela are a musical duo. For the most part I (Angela) write them songs, lyrics and basic chords and Simon creates a guitar or instrument piece over the top. Probably a pop folk style genre. I really enjoyed doing open mics and performing in front of people. Simon is a little more shy. We met in England, Cambridgeshire when I was living there in 2014-15. Simon is English born and bred and I am Australia and we are now both living in Australia where we have started a family. As a child I always used to pretend to be a pop star writing my first real song lyrics at about 10yrs old. I didn’t write another song til I was 19. I had been approached by a budding electro music producer after singing along to a song on the radio in a super cheap auto store. This time making music together awoke my passion for songwriting and I later got a guitar from my mum one Christmas and started writing in a genre that suited me more. Playing guitar enabled me to play in front of people. I started doing open mics in Byron Bay at Brewery and beach hotel. When I moved to England I had much more opportunity playing in bars, busking in Cambridge and Germany and doing lots of open mics. Since meeting Simon my songs have become more complete with his instrumentals added. We had a lot of time together to practice over the years and was an absolute blessing when we were given the opportunity to record with Matthew at ‘little finch’ and lovely to hear our songs and have something to share with people and make potential music videos too. when Grace gets a bit older we will probably find our way back into performing live again. For now I sing along to the radio in the car with my daughter and occasionally sit at our new/old piano.
